There is a bit of a rivalry going on in our home. I knew it would be an issue once a year but I did not think it would be this hard. You see, I am a BYU fan. Bryce is a Utah fan. I'm a BYU daddy's girl. I go out and help my dad sabotage all the yards of our Utah fan neighbors every year in the fabulous colors of blue and white. I've known ever since I could say "Go Cougars" that Blue and Red just don't mix but thought I could make it work when I married a huge U fan. I have tried to be supportive of his fetish. Give a little cheer when they make a three pointer at the basketball games. Stand up and slap hands with U fans when there is a touchdown. I have even gone to such lengths as to wear a Utah shirt at one of their games (only with the agreement that Bryce would wear BLUE at the BYU game). After all of this I feel there is a lot of hostility from the U fan at home towards the Cougars. I think I will have to teach him a lesson in a couple weeks when our two beloved teams come together again to battle it out. Or maybe just leave a little love note for him.

Pumpkins + Caramel Apples= "It's good!"
We had a fantastic evening carving pumpkins and making caramel apples at the Tycksen home last night. Every one was fighting over the only two carving knives we had so I decided to paint my pumpkin instead. Now I will have you know that one year I painted an almost realistic Frankenstein on my pumpkin. It was amazing. So this year I thought I could do it from memory but it DID NOT even come close to my other one. It was amateur work, but it was still fun.

Aren't these two just so cute? I LOVE my brother and Megs

Bryce played Wii with the girls after carving pumpkins, but he lost.
Bo giving Alyssa's hamster Bella a ride.
Emilee has been a little out of control lately and decided to dye her hair purple...ok, it was for a carnival.
Thanks mom and dad for a fun night!
I love being with my hubby! He makes me so incredibly happy!
This is Bryce's pumpkin lit up. He thought it would be funny to put a Y on the tombstone. NOT a funny joke at the Tycksen home. He can't carve a pumpkin next year.

Bryce's gifts
Birthday Luck
Wednesday was my birthday and the whole day was fantastic. When I woke up that morning Bryce was ready for me to take him to trax so I put on some sweats and stood in the hallway to wait for him. He started laughing and my first thought was he was humored by the way I looked after having just woken up, but he nudged me out of the hallway into the main room of our house. It was still dark and on the kitchen table he had lit candles and there was a huge bouquet of flowers and some gifts for me. I was really surprised! The gifts he gave me were some fabulous shoes from Aldo and some cans of Diet Coke. He even baked me a cake and wrote "Happy Birthday Bre" on it. I could not ask for a better husband.
Later that day after school I went to lunch with mom, Sara, Amanda and Bryce. We had my family and the Olsens over to my house that night for cake and ice cream before we went to our softball game. We won the game! It must have been because it was 09/09/09 and we finally wore matching jerseys. It was a great way to spend one's 25th birthday.
