crazed Indiana shoppers

Today was INSANE at the grocery store. I went to Meijer's and thought I would be done in 20 minutes. Not so my friends. This was definitely worse than shopping during the holidays. On my list of groceries was milk and Meijer had NO milk. Not even the kinds I dislike.

After finally getting out of Meijer, I decided I should use my WIC check at Kroger's instead so I could get milk there. I don't like shopping at this particular Kroger's because it is extremely crowded on any given day but just like Meijer's it too was more over crowded than usual. "what.is.the.deal?" I kept thinking to myself.

Finally while standing in the checkout line I started talking with some other women and placed my suspicions on it being so crowded due to the super bowl this Sunday. All three women left their carts and came closer to me and said, "Oh no dear. It's because of the weather". I should have known.

People out East tend to freak out about the weather, in my opinion. This is supposed to be a pretty bad storm though so I guess they have good reason. I'm glad I finished all the shopping at least and hopefully I don't go into labor the next few days! Below is the report from FOX News.
Winter storm warning issued for Central Indiana

The National Weather Service has upgraded Central Indiana to a Winter Storm Warning starting at 7 p.m. Monday through 7 p.m. Wednesday.
NWS is calling the impending storm "potentially catastrophic" for our area. Roads will likely become impassable due to heavy snow or icing, depending on where you are. Blowing snow will reduce visibility and power outages are likely.
The Indianapolis area will see about a half inch of snow but more than an inch and a half of ice will coat the metro area over the next 48 hours. Areas between Indianapolis and Lafayette could see snow totals greater than 15 inches

Baby Showers for Sam

While I was in Utah I had two baby showers the morning after we arrived. My mom had one at her home with breakfast and I was able to see a lot of family and some friends. It was all craziness since it was open house so I didn't get any pictures.

I went to my mother-in-law Sue's house afterwards and she and Aunt Charla made lunch for everyone that came. It was so good to see family and my good friend Liz was able to make it to that one. She is pregnant with a girl! We are so happy for you and Travis!

Liz and I belly bumping.

After we returned to Indiana my friend Lacey Merkley had a baby shower for Sam. It was so good seeing some of the girls I've become friends with here and they gave some really cute gifts!

There are four of us that are pregnant right now out of this group!

Lacey crocheted this blanket for Sam. Love it! Thanks again Lacey!

8 months

Wow is my belly getting big! I laughed at this picture when Bryce showed me. Somehow I don't seem to realize how big I am until I see a picture. I can't believe how much I've grown since December.

Bryce came home from school early today and we took advantage of some time before he started studying to clean out closets and rearrange our bedroom so we could fit Sam's pack 'n play on my side of the bed. It has a bassinet and changing table hooked on it so it will be perfect for the first month after he is born.

We're feeling more prepared now that the house is ready for Sam. I've done some major deep cleaning and I am so thrilled to have all of the necessities in order (crib, car seat etc.), or at least ordered and in the shipping process. Having the bassinet sitting next to our bed is definitely making it more real that I am REALLY having a baby.

We are so excited!

Christmas 2010

Bryce and I could not have enjoyed our time in Utah for Christmas more. We spent the first 1 1/2 weeks at his parents home and the rest of the time at mine. We traveled back and forth a lot since our parents only live thirty minutes away and it was all worth the time we got to spend with family.

Thanks Haslam and Tycksen parents for the fun trip! We love and miss you!

My sisters, mom and I spent the night at Ashley's house for a girls
night out. We played Just Dance on the wii and I didn't do too
shabby with my big belly.

Parker and Megan's cozy little home. We stayed up late talking and
the boys played Tiger Woods golf.

I love you Nina!

Christmas Eve at the Olsen's home.

Opening our PJ's Christmas Eve at my parent's.

Merry Christmas Chase! I bought him a snuggie.

Maybelle. irresistibly chubby!

Bryce and I bought Presley a giant Beauty and
the Beast book that came with a 3 foot Belle.

Bryce will be excited to dress our little guy in
this Ute jersey given to him from Jamie.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I don't have any pictures from our New Years Eve celebration at my aunt Lisa's house. I was sick and didn't even think about taking pictures. We played a couple games, laughed a lot and enjoyed talking with cousins we haven't seen for awhile.

When it came time to open the sparkling grape juice we couldn't even drink it because my dad left it outside in freezing temperatures. Needless to say it was frozen solid. I did get a New Years kiss from my hubby though!

We can't wait for this year of new experiences and welcoming our baby Sam!

7 months

This is a really late post since I was busy spending all my time with family over the holidays.

A few days after we arrived in UT, I went with my friend Chelsea to take pictures of her cute little family. In return she took a few maternity shots of me for my seven month mark.

This will be me and Bryce soon, except with a baby boy...

Thanks Chels for the pictures and practice! Love you!
