dreaming on clouds

We decided to move Sam into his own room starting today. It's a big day for Sam...and me. I might end up using our blow up mattress and sleeping in his room. Separation anxiety.

We finally put up some fun wall decals I bought online awhile ago. Bryce did the honors of putting the decals on the wall and he was a pro. It was an easy way to bring a little personality to the room.

My mom made the quilt and bedskirt for Sam's crib. I LOVE it. Thanks again mom!

bean burritos

these.are.delicious.

I have been trying to find some recipes that don't use any meat and these are a great start! The best part is you can freeze them and eat them for lunch or dinner another time. I hope you enjoy them as much as Bryce and I did.

happy easter

Sam's first Easter

What are you doing on my shoulder peep?

Parker and Megan stopped by on their way to North Carolina. It was so fun spending time with them for Easter and they loved seeing Sam again.

Today after Bryce came home from school he was playing with Sam. He made Sam laugh for the first time so I grabbed the camera and caught the last part of him laughing. His laugh is so cute!

Sam's baby blessing

While visiting in Utah we decided to have Samuel's blessing since we would be able to have all the family there. Bryce gave Sam a beautiful blessing. I think it was perfect for Sam. He was blessed with a knowledge that his heavenly Father loves him and through scripture study he would gain a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ and that he would be able to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost, even when it is hard. I am so grateful for the priesthood and the power it brings into our life. I am truly blessed to have Bryce honor his priesthood.

Happy Grandparents!

Bryce loves his baby boy!

Sue was so nice to let me use the same suit Bryce was blessed in. To make it unique for Sam she crocheted him a sweater and blanket which both turned out so nice! Thank you Sue!

Sam you are meant to do great things in your life. I can't wait to get to know you more.

Sammy visits UTAH

We had the best surprise visit to Utah. Bryce had spring break a couple weeks ago and we were planning on just hanging out at home but my dad had some extra frequent flyer miles so he flew us out!

Sam meeting some of his Aunties for the first time!

We got to celebrate Parker's birthday with the family. Megan put together a surprise party for him and made a delicious cake and chocolate covered strawberries. She is such a cute wife.

Micah and Amanda excited to meet Sam!

Parker and Megan. No pressure but Sam will need a cousin sometime on the Tycksen side! And Parker I hope it's a boy too so Sam will have a little buddy.

Grandpa Tycksen was so anxious to meet you Sam!

Proud Grandpa

Great-Grandma Conner

Sam with Great-Grandpa Sam. Grandpa was so happy to have his name carried on, even though his real name is Frank and Sam is his nickname.

Sam, it's your choice if you want to be a U fan but Blue is your color. I'm just sayin.

Already reading his scriptures! He is going to be such a great missionary someday!

The girls couldn't get enough of Sam.

I got to watch all of Emilee's dances at her last drill performance. She is such a great dancer and I am jealous that she can do the splits.

Sam finally got to meet Grandpa Haslam! We didn't get to spend a lot of time since he is really busy but we will make up for that in June when we visit.

Chase was hoping to have a Chase Jr. born on his birthday but Sam was born the day before.

This picture is actually from when Sue was visiting us after Sam was born. I haven't had time to post some of those pictures so I thought I would add it in here. Thanks again Sue for coming out! It was so great having you and we can't wait for you to visit again.
